Family shepherds

Calling and equipping men to lead their homes. By Voddie Baucham Jr.

I grew up in a very poor environment in my home country of Nicaragua, where fathers had abdicated the role of leaders in the home long before I was born. My father was no different from the rest of the men of his generation and failed as a leader of our home, leaving my mother to raise me and lead the household. Growing up without a father is hard, and now that I have two boys of my own, I know that being a good family shepherd is of utmost importance.

I came across this book randomly while looking for parenting resources for men. I picked it up because I had seen some videos I really liked from the author, but little did I know that this little book would be so influential to me. From Christian living to theology and apologetics, this book packs a punch. I never expected, when I first started reading it, that I would continue to buy copies and give them to men I meet who are like I was, in desperate need of direction.
