Psalm 19. Revelation, condemnation & salvation.
When I was a child I was obsessed with the account of creation, I loved watching nature documentaries, specially ones depicting the way the world was created. Of course I was fed the “big bang theory” and the “theory of evolution”. At school our science classes were all brought to us from a secular point of view. Evolutionary biology and darwinism were the bread and butter of misses Guadalupe’s science hall. One day we had a debate at school where a fellow named “Darwin” of all names came to propose that creation was divine in nature, and God was responsible for the world we see today.

Psalm 143 – We Remember, We Trust
In readying this Psalm, it is very easy to dismiss it as irrelevant to what you and I go through on a dailybasis. Not many of us have spent our youth as a shepherd, not many of us have killed a 9 foot tall elitewarrior. Thankfully, most of us do not have a crazy fathers-in-law chasing us around trying to murder us.David has a pretty epic story that when left unexamined, seems…distant.

Embracing Rebuke: A Path to Growth and Wisdom
No one likes rebuke. At least, not at first. Rebuke inherently involves confrontation. Not necessarily the kind that leads to heated arguments or fistfights, but a confrontation nonetheless. It boils down to the stark reality of being told, “You are wrong.” This is at the heart of every rebuke: a direct challenge to something we've said, done, or believed, showing it to be out of step with God’s truth. Despite our natural aversion to it, the wisdom of the Scriptures teaches us the value of engaging with rebuke.

The Biblical origins of men
To understand why Christian men are needed in our times, we must first explore what makes men unique as male image bearers and how they differ from female image bearers. Egalitarianism, which is prevalent today, argues for the sameness between genders. However, I want to focus on the distinctions rather than the overlaps. In this post, we will examine the first three chapters of Genesis to lay a foundation for understanding Christian men.

GO OUt in boldness
At a security checkpoint on the border of Communist Czechoslovakia in 1957, ten years into the Cold War, Andrew van der Bijl sat in his newly acquired Volkswagen Beetle. The trunk and back seat of the Beetle were loaded with Bibles, something strictly forbidden in Communist countries where religious freedom was heavily suppressed. As he slowly approached the border, Andrew faced the tense and dangerous task of passing through the security checkpoint without having his contraband discovered. Getting caught smuggling would guarantee him a stay in a Soviet prison or worse.

The Profound intersection of law and gospel in Christian life
There are 5 questions I want you to ponder and think deeply about, which will serve as a type of Socratic guide to understanding the Law of God.

PSALM 51 - True Worship & True RepentAnce
I was talking to a friend this week about worship and Christian music. I am of the opinion that worship and Christian music are two different things. Christian music, especially contemporary Christian music (CCM), tends to reflect our struggles and what God can do for them, or how much Jesus loves us. It tends to be very self-focused. Worship music is praise to God in response to what He has done and is outward-focused.

Poluted Hearts
Jesus confronts the Pharisees about their traditions versus God’s commandments. They were all about external rituals like washing hands, but Jesus dig deeper, pointing out their hearts were far from God. It’s not what goes into our mouths that defiles us, but what comes out—from our hearts.
A Spiritual house for a royal priesthood
On August 9, 1173, work began on a tower in a small city. This tower was to be a bell tower for the local church, with seven bells at the top to communicate messages to the people in the area and inspire them with their beautiful sounds.

Family shepherds
I grew up in a very poor environment in my home country of Nicaragua, where fathers had abdicated the role of leaders in the home long before I was born. My father was no different from the rest of the men of his generation and failed as a leader of our home, leaving my mother to raise me and lead the household.

Knowing God
Knowing God by J. I. Packer has deeply impacted my spiritual journey. From the very first page, Packer's thoughtful and profound exploration of who God is drew me in. His ability to explain complex theological concepts in a clear and accessible way made the book a joy to read.

A Gospel Primer
The gospel of Jesus Christ is not only for before you were saved. The gospel is for every day of the believers life, and we need to preach the gospel to ourselves daily. Jude wrote to believers saying "I was making every effort to write to you about our common salvation," and Paul wrote to the believing church in Rome that he was "eager to proclaim the gospel to you also who are in Rome."

Life in the Negative World
Much has been written from the Christian perspective about the reality of moral decay in the West, specifically the moral decay of America. From blogs and articles to books and podcasts, the problem facing Christians today is well-attested, and the diagnosis is precise.
